A speech by Zhang Tianliang on behalf of The Epoch Times at the Washington D.C. rally to support 12 million withdrawals from the communist organizations.
I wish to thank our friends who have gathered here today under the baking sun in solidarity with the withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). One individual's effort may be insignificant, but the joint efforts of each and every one of us have contributed to the rolling waves of the spreading of the Nine Commentaries and of the renouncing of the CCP.
On July 6, two independent investigators from Canada, Mr. David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia Pacific), and Mr. David Matas, international human rights lawyer, issued a report that confirmed the secret harvesting of vital organs from tens of thousands of live Falun Gong practitioners in many provinces and cities in China. The report describes the tragedy as "evil practices never seen on this planet." Mr. Kilgour said yesterday in Congress that in China, horrors that even authors of science fiction can not conjure up, are happening now.
The CCP Has Lost the Basis for Communication with Us
Those who still harbor illusions about the CCP should ask themselves: what is the basis for the CCP's reform? Even on the word reform, we have a different definition for it from that of the CCP.
We believe that the first step for reform is for the CCP to stop killing. But the CCP thinks that reform means its way of killing becomes more covered up, its killing method more skillful, and its profit-making from killing more mature. In the past, the CCP demanded fees for the bullets from families of those whom it executed. It cost only a few dimes then. But now the CCP will not execute the death-row convicts immediately; it will let them live until their organs are found to match those of potential recipients. Their organs will be harvested first and then they will be thrown into a burner while still alive. Killing one person this way can result in hundreds of thousands of U.S. dollars in profit for the CCP. This is how the CCP is moving along with the times. This is the reform that the CCP advocates.
We may believe that freedom of expression is a reform, but the CCP thinks that tightening control on people's expression by tapping phone calls and screening websites is a display of advanced technology. We may believe that "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" is a virtue, but Jiang Zemin thinks "Since Falun Gong believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, there is nothing to fear when we suppress it." And the list can go on and on. A party whose criteria for right and wrong runs counter to the universal values has lost the basis for communication with us in both spirit and letter.
A Nation's Self-salvage
Because the CCP can not be reformed, the campaign to renounce the CCP goes far beyond ending the CCP's rule. It involves anyone who has been brainwashed by the CCP since childhood and who thinks with the CCP's mentality and in its language. For such a person to completely free himself from the cultish indoctrination of the CCP, he has to not only physically leave the communist organizations, but also, and more important, bid farewell to the CCP spiritually.
Let us assume that there had not been this campaign of renouncing the CCP. Would the CCP disintegrate? Sure it would. Because the CCP is insatiable in plundering China's social wealth, it is insatiable in destroying the eco-environment, it is insatiable in damaging human moral values, and it is insatiable in murdering lives. The CCP has been moving against the will of heaven, so it is doomed. But before its total collapse there would be an eruption of social crisis, economic disasters, and eco-degradations. Another possibility is that the CCP would launch a war against foreign nations, as suggested by the Chinese militants Zhu Chengwu and Chi Haotiao, to divert public attention to its domestic chaos. It could also be that the people in China would rebel against the despotic regime.
From the perceived negative developments in China under the CCP, we have sensed that the CCP is dragging our nation and humanity into an abyss, and numerous people would be held hostage by the CCP and would not escape a catastrophe. Therefore, the issuance of the Nine Commentaries and the rising campaign of renouncing the CCP are designed to make this potential calamity vanish into thin air and to cause the CCP to break up in moral and cultural dimensions. This way, China will undergo a peaceful transition into a free nation.
Racing Against the Clock to Disintegrate the CCP
Many people may ask: "Now 12 million people have renounced the CCP. When will it collapse?" There are people who feel that the CCP is still alive. But the CCP, aware that it is irreversibly drifting toward disintegration, is already counting its final days. As the CCP has witnessed, people are losing confidence in it by the day and have deserted it. Now the CCP has become meaningless in the hearts of hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners and in the minds of 12 million people who have renounced the communist organizations. It is spurned by numerous unemployed workers, by farmers, whose lands have been taken away, by migrant workers whose rights have been deprived, by grumbling petitioners, by residents who have been forced to relocate, and by all the people who have read the Nine Commentaries. In short, the CCP has been thrown into the trash.
The reason the CCP has yet to fall is that there are still people who hold a place for it in their heart. These people still endorse the CCP, endorse its criteria for good and evil, endorse its way of thinking, and endorse its way of talking. They still regard the CCP that has murdered 80 million of its own people as their mother; they still think that the CCP need not pay with its life for crimes it has committed, rather it should be judged "dialectically"; they still portray the CCP's deliberate killing and genocide as a mother spanking her own child; they still expect that the CCP would grant exonerations to all the falsely convicted; they even term the CCP's rise to power as nation building, enslavement as liberation, and endear it by calling it "our party". As long as these people are still doing any of the above, they are providing a spiritual base for the CCP's existence.
So, when the number of withdrawals from the CCP reaches 12 million, we should scale up our resolve to bring down this evil regime immediately. If we are not fast enough in moving toward a peaceful transition, the CCP will probably cause more unthinkable losses to our nation. Thus, we are racing against the clock when we seize the moment to spread the Nine Commentaries and push for renouncing the communist organizations.
Renewing Our Pledge and Resolve
Regardless of whether or not we have renounced the CCP, when we have the slightest doubt about the path of peaceful transition, we should read the Nine Commentaries again and review the truth that the CCP is doomed. When the CCP does bad things, we will understand why it does it if we read the Nine Commentaries; when the CCP puts up a show of reform, we will know how good it is at covering itself up if we read the Nine Commentaries; when we harbor any illusions about the CCP, we will be reminded of the truth that the CCP will never be changed if we read the Nine Commentaries; and when we are afraid of the CCP, we will become aware of its fragile nature if we read the Nine Commentaries.
When we wake up every morning and find that the CCP is still with us, we may ask ourselves: Haven't we forgotten that the CCP has killed 80 million of its own people? Haven't we forgotten that the CCP has given away hundreds of kilometers of our lands? Haven't we forgotten that the CCP has harvested organs from live Falun Gong practitioners? Haven't we forgotten that the CCP's atrocities are still ongoing? What can we do to put an end to the CCP's rule? We are not thinking and doing this for hatred. We will never resort to violence, either. We should, however, account to history and our own conscience. To the members of the CCP in particular, we hope they will renounce the party and extricate themselves from the spiritual control of the cultish CCP.
As I conclude my speech, let us raise our heads and see the hope for tomorrow, see the bloody flag of the CCP be burned to ashes, and see real freedom come to the land of China. We are fortunate to be at a critical juncture in history and to be engaged in this movement of national self-salvage. When the CCP collapses, we will be proud of ourselves and tell the world that we have been on the right side of history. We have not only witnessed the turning-point of history, but also facilitated its arrival.
