A friend in Sydney rang to tell me the Chinese Central TV Station (CCTV) are holding a "Large-Scale Concert" in Sydney on June 4 for all Australians, to promote what a good time everyone is really having in China these days. I almost fainted when I heard this. Only a brutally suppressive regime would blatantly ignore its own killing spree of 17 years ago when the world watched in horror as 300,000 troops used tanks and automatic weapons to gun down thousands of innocent people (the June 4th-Tiananmen Massacre.)
This concert is just one of many large-scale propaganda activities aimed at convincing all western nations that China is a happy, reformed, and stable country. Unfortunately the Chinese communist regime (CCP) will hold many activities like this year in Australia.
One such event was held in February this year, when the communist regime sent a 100-strong delegation to Sydney to participate in the annual Spring Festival parade. At that same time, an academic seminar called "Conference on Political Civilisation & Harmonious Society" was hosted by University of Technology, Sydney history Professor Feng Chongyi. Attendees included Chinese political reformers and democracy advocators such as Qin Hui, He Weifang, Ding Dong, Wang Yi, Yu Jie, and Yang Hengjun, who also watched this large parade. Some of them commented that the communist regime was truly shameless, as they spent so much of Chinese taxpayers' money to come here to try and gain popularity. Yet with both Beijing and Falun Gong teams in the parade, some felt that Australia is truly a place of "the harmonious society".
The CCP Tries Propaganda to Fool Australia, Suppress the Truth
In 2005, the communist regime managed to bribe and win over France during the China-France Friendship Year activities. In 2006 the CCP plans to deliver the same package to Australia. Australia has become a major region for Falun Gong practitioners' exposing the criminal activities of the CCP regime. Two sensational events that happened in the last two years, as Jurist and Law Professor Mr. Yuan Hongbing fled from China to Sydney, followed by Chen Yonglin's defection, have made the communist regime frightened of Australia speaking out internationally about its human rights problems. So one can clearly see why the Chinese communist regime's spending so much money coming to Australia is to win Australian people's support.
It is uncertain whether the CCP regime's enormous parade really had any effect, but we do know that Beijing's threats and propaganda does work. Some overseas Chinese have already chosen sides and have drawn a clear line with groups that are viewed by Beijing as problematic to retaining power. Mr. Wang Yi wrote an article concerned for those overseas Chinese who are unable to shake off their fear of the CCP regime even though they are protected by the overseas law of the land in which they live.
What Mr. Wang does not know is the influence of the CCP regime in Sydney is not that much different from its influence in Chengdu city where Mr. Wang comes from. For overseas Chinese, if they offend the regime, they would not be able to obtain a passport or visa to return to China and this is truly painful to all overseas Chinese.
Another "party line concert" is planned for October this year where the CCP will spend a huge amount of money again to promote Chinese National Day. The concert is titled "the whole world rejoices together." This is how the Chinese communist regime implements their overseas policy of "using both hard and soft tactics" to win public opinion from Chinese and westerners.
CCP Plans Events to Distract from Tiananmen Massacre Anniversary

What is truly shocking to me was learning that the CCP dared to hold a celebration at Sydney Theater on June 4. On this day in 1989, the Communist regime's army used tanks to kill thousands of unarmed Chinese people whose only wish was to have the vile communist party leave their beloved China and have a return to a fair and just system of democratic governance.
This is undoubtedly a deep insult to Sydney's Chinese people and exposes not only to the Chinese people but to the world what kind of deceitful, unrepentant, and dangerous regime rules China today. The regime has not changed one bit since the world saw that it was capable of killing its own citizens. The only difference is that now it bribes governments and businesspeople with the promise of economic gains, and tries to puts them to sleep with grotesque concerts to make them forget.
I just want to remind the Sydney Chinese people and western people alike that 17 year ago on June 4, the Chinese regime carried out a massacre of the Chinese people. It still continues today but at those times there are no overseas cameras to record and expose to the world.
I would like to to appeal to all Sydney Chinese people, and to all people in Sydney who have consciences and are living in the free world in these dark days: Please go to the Sydney Theater to protest how the CCP regime celebrates this shameful day!
