Statement: Epoch Times Staff on Relay Hunger Strike to Condemn CCP Violence

As the CCP regime nears its demise, the world's people again witnessed its evil and madness.

On the afternoon of February 8, Epoch Times Chief Technical Officer Li Yuan, who is a Falun Gong practitioner, was held at gunpoint and attacked in his Atlanta home by thugs and special agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He was tied up with rope and badly beaten. His computers were stolen. Prior to this, many U.S.-based Epoch Times staff's family members who reside in China had received threats, including death threats, from the CCP.

The Epoch Times Strongly Condemns this Violence

The Epoch Times upholds justice and conscience of the mind. In addition, it has a unique technical advantage to break through the CCP's news censorship. Since its inception, it has been a thorn in the side of the CCP. However, the fact that the CCP extended its scoundrel hands onto the land of the free -- the United States -- and wreaked violence and bloodshed of the innocent in broad daylight, is still beyond people's imagination. With this act, it has exposed its wicked face in front of the whole world.

The CCP has infiltrated media outside of China and paid a heavy price to coax Internet companies such as Yahoo and Google to participate in news censorship, filtering, and distortion. The Epoch Times reports widely on the true situation in China, including the mass withdrawals from the CCP, the Chinese civil rights movement, and the persecution of Falun Gong. It is also able to break through the CCP's Internet blockade, so that Mainland Chinese people can publish statements of withdrawal from the CCP and send other information from China. People in Mainland China can also access The Epoch Times and news from overseas through technologies provided by the Dynamic Internet Technology Inc. This is a fatal blow to the CCP regime, which relies on lies and information censorship to rule.

Now nearly 8 million people have withdrawn from the CCP on the Epoch Times Tuidang ("Quit the CCP") website. A large number of Chinese people have broken through the Internet blockade and sent their CCP resignation statements to the international community. This has caused extreme panic for the CCP. They have lost their footing and resorted to gang activities to deal with civil rights activists and the Chinese people who have withdrawn from the CCP.

As revealed in the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party , the scoundrel nature of the CCP does not prove its power. Instead, it demonstrates the extreme weakness and madness of the regime before its demise. When as the people around the world support attorney Gao Zhisheng and other civil rights activities by going on a relay hunger strike, the latest bloody case of the CCP is the latest indicator of its coming collapse.

We hereby solemnly declare that the global offices of The Epoch News Group will begin a relay hunger strike starting today to condemn the blatant terrorist acts by the CCP's special agents. Recently, the renowned Chinese human rights attorney, Gao Zhisheng, narrowly escaped murder by the CCP. Another famous human rights lawyer, Guo Feixiong, was beaten by thugs hired by the CCP. Gao Zhisheng and Guo Feixiong, together with others, have initiated a nationwide relay hunger strike protesting the CCP's brutal persecution of Chinese civilians.

The Epoch News Group hereby announces its support to attorney Gao Zhisheng and others dedicated to safeguarding human rights both at home and abroad in response to the magnanimous act of the relay hunger strike worldwide. The Epoch Times solemnly protests and denounces the criminal acts of the CCP, and calls on the public to clearly discern the evilness of the CCP and make their declarations to quit the CCP and any organizations associated with it.
