After an incident in a Chinese restaurant in Sydney, Australia, between a suspected Chinese secret agent and the high-profile defector Mr. Chen Yonglin, sources close to the former consular official have revealed that Chinese government spies or assassins have been sent to Australia on a mission translated as “Operation Decapitation”.

New South Wales Police are investigating the incident in a restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Hurstville on Monday August 15, when Mr. Chen noticed a Chinese man secretly videotaping him and his family having dinner. Witnesses at the scene told police that when Mr. Chen approached the man with the video camera, the man began shouting abuse at the former diplomat.

Earlier that night Mr. Chen and his family noticed three suspicious men of Chinese appearance outside their residence, and when they left the restaurant another two suspicious Chinese men were loitering outside.

Sources have revealed that Chinese agents in Australia have been ordered by Beijing to monitor Mr. Chen. Also, the former 6-10 officer Mr. Hao Fengjun, who defected in February this year, and the high-profile Chinese dissident law professor Yuan Hongbing, are also under intense surveillance by Chinese agents. Sources say this is being done in preparation for what has been named “Operation Beheading”.

Sources close to Mr. Chen have told The Epoch Times that the former diplomat has been warned by friends within the Chinese Foreign Ministry that the Chinese Communist government is planning to assassinate him and the other two men so as to send a clear message to any other would-be defectors. According to Mr. Chen’s source, at least six high-level Chinese officials have defected since Mr. Chen left the Chinese consulate in Sydney on May 26, but their details remain undisclosed.

The sources said that, of the agents to carry out “Operation Beheading”, one is from the Foreign Ministry, another from the Public Security Agency, and the third from a security department within the Headquarters of the General Staff of the Chinese Military.
