LONDON - British police have arrested two of the three suspects they have been hunting after failed attempts to detonate bombs on the London transport system, Sky Television said on Friday, citing police sources.

London's Metropolitan Police confirmed a number of arrests had been made but would not say where or whether those held were among the suspects.

"I can confirm there were arrests," a police spokeswoman said.

A number of raids were carried out in different parts of the British capital on Friday. A fourth suspected bomber has already been arrested.
