British police say they have arrested nine more people during their investigation of the July 21 attempts to bomb London's transport system.

A police spokesperson says none of the nine arrested Thursday are believed to be the three suspects still being sought in the failed attacks on three subway trains and a bus.

Meanwhile, detectives are questioning one of the suspected bombers who was arrested early Wednesday in the central English city of Birmingham.

Police say Yasin Hassan Omar, a Somali who has been living in Britain since 1992, fled from the Warren Street subway station in London on July 21 after a hidden bomb failed to explode there.
