Ten Thousand People Gather to Support One Million Resignations from the Party

The Epoch Times editorial series, the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party," prompted a flood of resignations from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The number of withdrawals recently passed the one million mark. On April 23, parades were held on four continents in conjunction with a huge parade in New York, to declare support and congratulate the more than one million people who have resigned from the CCP.

Parade of 4,000 in New York

Approximately 4000 people from over 20 countries and all walks of life gathered on April 23, 2005 at Foley Square in New York's Chinatown, to hold a rally and parade. They condemned the CCP's persecution of the Chinese people, and urged all party members to immediately cut ties with the CCP, to induce the collapse of the CCP and establish a new democratic and free China.

Over 200 organizations participated in the parade and rally including the Federation for a Democratic China, the Independent Federation of Chinese Students and Scholars, the Overseas Chinese Peace and Freedom Association, Amnesty China, the Anti-Political-Persecution Alliance of China, the Chinese Republican Party, the China United Government, and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association in Germany. Speakers included Tang Baiqiao, the president of China Peace, Xu Wenli, an exiled convener for the China Democracy Party headquarters overseas, renowned political commentator Ling Feng, and Guo Jinzi, director of the Greater New York branch of the Global Alliance for Democracy and Peace.

10,000 Supporters at Taiwanese Parade and Rally

In Taiwan, 275 companies and organizations crowded Kaidagenan road in Taipei as over ten thousand people joined the "One Million Withdrawals from the Communist Party" parade to show their disdain towards the CCP on behalf of the Taiwanese, hoping that the Communist Party members would become aware of the horror of the communist regime. Speakers included legislative member Li Wenzhong, chair of the Humanistic Education Foundation, Zhu Taixiang, director of the Chinese Human Rights Association, Wu Huiling, president of the Taiwan Environmental Protection Union, Chen Jiaohua, director of Victims of Investment in China Association, Gao Weibang, and director of the Taiwan Professors Association, Dai Baocun.

Hong Kong Parade Shows Support

In Hong Kong, more than 200 people held a parade to support the one million resignations from the CCP. Among the people gathered were representatives from large freedom alliances including the Southern Democratic Alliance, the Hong Kong branch of the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice, the Democratic Society Power, the Hong Kong branch of the Chinese Democracy Justice Party, and the Hong Kong branch of the Global Alliance Against the "Anti-Secession Law". The parade started at Victoria Park and ended on the sidewalk at the back entrance of the Zhonglian office. A representative read a statement from The Epoch Times explaining the purpose of the parade.

Peaceful Gathering in Sydney, Australia

In Sydney nearly 300 people from organizations such as the Party for Freedom and Democracy in China, Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice, and the Chinese Labor Party gathered at the Belmor Park in downtown Sydney to celebrate and support the one million resignations from the CCP with a rally, street play and march. The hosts at the conference were a renowned Australian radio host and a host from the Sound of Hope radio station. Speakers included a China expert, China law professor Yuan Hongbing, and renowned democratic figure Qing Jin.

The crowd destroyed CCP symbols, emblems and printed material. The street play attracted many pedestrians with scenes of absurd tragedies that happened under the CCP's ruling, and many onlookers were in tears. After the rally, the participants marched from Belmor Park through downtown Sydney to City Hall.

Street Shows in Melbourne and a March in Brisbane, Australia

To support the one million withdrawals, several Chinese, Myanmar, and Romanian groups held a press conference, demonstration, art display and a street music drama performance in downtown Melbourne. The activities attracted the attention of many citizens and tourists.

Federation of Overseas Chinese and several Taiwanese clubs held a rally and march in downtown Brisbane. Australian Democrats Senator Andrew Bartlett, spokesperson for the Australian Green Party, Drew Hutton, and the president of the Queensland Taiwan Association, Yang Jinji, gave speeches.

A representative from the China Peace Organization, Ling Lin, said that there were already one million withdrawals from the CCP. The wave of people quitting the CCP in order to save the Chinese nation is unstoppable. The Berlin Wall fell, Russian communism collapsed, and the dissolution of the CCP is not far off.

Support from New Zealand

On April 23, a march was held at Aotea Square in downtown Auckland, New Zealand. People in the march were from China, people in favor of democracy from Taiwan, and columnists. Representatives from the Quitting CCP Service Center and the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice spoke before the march started.

Many Groups in London Join the Parade

Many groups in London and a large number of civilians held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate on April 23. There were about ten speeches in either Chinese or English. Ms. Lucy Jin represented the Federation for a Democratic China (FDC) and the German Student Union. Jin gave a speech entitled "Withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and start a representative government." Lord Francis Thurlow, a former British diplomat, delivered a speech condemning the CCP's brutal slaughter of its people, and its use of underhanded tactics to hide its persecution against human rights in China. After the rally, the march moved from the Chinese Consulate to Chinatown.

March in Tokyo to Publicly Support One Million Withdrawals

On April 24, the World Federation of Dissociating from the CCP, together with the Japanese branch of the FDC, the Chinese Union in Japan, and the Support Group to Break the Beijing Information Blockade held a demonstration to publicly support one million withdrawals from the CCP. Over 200 Chinese, Japanese, Malaysians and Israelis held a rally at Miyashita Park, Shibuya.

Demonstration in Vancouver

The Global Peace Democracy Federation, the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, and the Golden Phoenix Artists Association held a rally to support the one million withdrawals in Vancouver's Chinatown. After the rally, the participants walked through the major streets in Chinatown. Some cars honked at the march to show support. A pedestrian yelled, "Without the CCP, there is a New China".

Demonstrations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego

Hundreds of people from the Bay Area gathered in the San Francisco Garden Corner and marched through Chinatown on April 23. Ms. Ma Changzi, niece of musician Ma Sicong, said that over one million withdrawals from the CCP was the turning point for China to become democratic and free, and for the world to totally bury the Communist evil spirit.

Many groups took part in the "Global Support for One Million Withdrawals from the CCP" rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in L.A. Groups attending the rally and march included China Affairs Magazine, China Comment, Chinese Labor Party, the Solidarity Union of Democracy in China, Friends of Falun Gong, Mainland China Political Asylum Association, Global Withdrawal from the CCP Service Center, Global Army Pensioner Withdrawal from the CCP Association, and Federation of Dissociating from the CCP.

On the same day, more than 10 groups held a rally at La Jolla Cove, San Diego supporting the one million withdrawals. These groups included the Federation of Dissociating from the CCP, Rescuing the Educated Persecuted in China Association, Global Army Pensioner Withdrawal from the CCP Association, and the Safeguarding the News Freedom. Dr. Gao Dawei from the Global Withdrawal from the CCP Service Center congratulated those who had withdrawn from the party. Su Pan from the Federation of Dissociating from the CCP, Dr. Liu Jiesheng from the Rescuing the Educated Persecuted in China Association, and Chen Sanqi from the Global Army Pensioner Withdrawal from the CCP Association all gave speeches at the rally.

Rally in Paris to Support the Withdrawals

Chinese people in France held a rally to support the withdrawals in front of the Paris Store in the 13th district. The participants included the 6.4 Net, the China Solidarity Union, the French Withdraw from the CCP Service Center, Jian Youlu from the China Democracy Party in France, the Asia Youth Democracy Union, the Free Vietnamese Association in France, the Vietnamese Women Association, the French branch of the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice, a priest from a Christian Evangelistic Church, and Zhang Jian, the director of the discipline team during the June 4 massacre in 1989.

Support from People in Germany

A rally supporting the one million withdrawals was held in front of the Cologne Church in Germany. The secretary general of the FDC, Pan Yongzhong, and poet and writer, Xu Pei gave speeches. Tourists and students from China and westerners from Germany and Poland attended the rally.

Support in Korea

The Korean Epoch Times , the Chinese Union in Korea, China Democracy Civilian Groups, Union of People Protesting Deportation of the North Korean Refugees and five other groups held a rally in Seoul city to support the over one million withdrawals.
