China Sends No One to Pope’s Funeral

Polish Television reported that the Chinese authorities decided to not attend Pope John Paul’s funeral because the Vatican has diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

Currently the Vatican does not have diplomatic relations with China. According to the report, relations were broken by the Chinese government in 1957.
