Nine Commentaries Present at the World's Largest Book Fair

The Epoch Times made an appearance at the world's largest book fair which took place in Frankfurt on Oct. 19-23, with the book version of its editorial series Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Since Nine Commentaries was published in late 2004, it has been translated into 20 different languages and has led more than 5 million Chinese people to renounce their membership to Chinese Communist Party.

The fair is an international book-trading fair that was first hosted by publishers in West Germany. Under the auspices of The German Books Association, the first book fair of the post-war period took place in 1949. Ever since, it has become the world's largest marketplace for the trading of publishing rights and licenses. This year, there were more than 7,200 individual exhibitors from 101 countries, with about 280,000 visitors.

The Epoch Times displayed Nine Commentaries in 20 different languages at the exhibit hall. All translations are available and free for download at the Epoch Times website. Currently, books are available in Chinese, English, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian, Spanish, Czech and Vietnamese. Other versions in the process of translation are Italian, German, French, Russian, Hebrew, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Polish and Belgian.

Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. was honored with a top award in the category "Asian American Issues – Online" during the 2005 Asian American Journalist Association annual convention. During the Frankfurt book fair exhibit, The Epoch Times also provided the newsroom an essay regarding "Why Do Westerners Need to Read the Nine Commentaries?"

In the exhibit, publishers generally gave positive affirmation, with several expressing interest in publishing various translations.
