Hundreds of foreign tourists mixed with the Bali local citizens participated in the anniversary of the Bali Bombing One Tragedy Summit, which killed 202 people six years ago, at the Ground Zero Bali Bombings Monument on Oct. 12, 2008.

Because there were too many participants, the main road access to the Bali Bombings One Monument was closed, many people had to take a detour route.

The Bali Bombing One tragedy anniversary summit was officially opened by Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika. Pastika lit the candle and was followed by other participants. After he lit the candle, Bali citizens and foreign tourists prayed together. The prayer ended with people spreading flowers and releasing birds in the air.

Pastika invited all citizens to unite together to prevent terrorist acts from occuring in the future. According to Pastika, to eliminate terrorism, a people's attitudes need to be resolute to remind each other and exchange information with each other as needed.

As the midnight anniversary ended, major tourists left ground zero but many of them still stood out at the Ground Zero Monument to embrace the atmosphere.

While at Kuta Beach, the sixth anniversary was held with prayer and the spreading of flowers was followed by thousands of foreign tourists and local citizens.

The anniversary was also celebrated by about 300 Australian and Bali surfers who made a human circle. The human circle was a reminder of united friendship between Bali citizens and Australia citizens, according to locals.
